The memory of a great man named Shri Jagan Nath Kapur popularly known as J.N.Kapur has his own significance. He has been a continuous source of motivation for generations to come. Despite support or opposition in his times, whatever Kapur Sahib faced in his life is crystal clear . His passion for establishing new colleges and schools along with his determination to stand by the weak and to fight for their rights was his life-style. Rising above the favour or disfavour from individuals or groups, Shri J. N. Kapur effectively formed his strategies to contribute to the social upliftment, irrespective of caste and creed. The schools and colleges established by him or true and lasting monuments of his memory. After partition uprooted from Lahore as a refugee, Shri J. N. Kapur an educationist and Crusader who turned small village Abdullahpur( Yamuna Nagar City) into education hub by establishing a chain of DAV institutions by collecting donations to spread literacy among the masses for the regeneration of the country. His contribution for the Welfare of humanity will be remembered for centuries. A gem like Sh. Jagan Nath Kapur is born very rare in a century, who illuminated the lives of numberless people.

“Papa jee! Main School Jaungee” ( Papa ji ,I will go to school). These words of his grand -daughter Shruti Kapur infused in the mind of this great educationist and social activist the idea of opening a public school. Late Shri J. N. Kapur planted a sapling in the form of DAV Public School in April 1984 with Shruti Kapur as the first student of the school which has now turned into a huge Banyan Tree providing the fruit of quality education to around 1350 students. During the period of three and a half decades the School has scaled new heights in the field of academics ,games/ sports and co- curricular activities.
